LEGAL ASSISTANT

LEGAL ASSISTANT   •  DOWNTOWN OFFICE, LAS VEGAS

The ELG team has an entry level position for qualified candidates who preferably have a background as either a legal assistant or an administrative assistant in a busy office environment. We like strong self motivated team players with great customer service skills. All members of our team are engaged in client interactions, outgoing and upbeat is a must.

  • Complete administrative duties such as making copies, answering and directing phone calls and greeting clients
  • Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary
  • Draft documents and letters from existing acquisitions using proper licensing templates
  • Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence
  • Correspond with counsel, court and clients
  • Assist with accounting and billing
  • Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
  • Two-year degree or equivalent certification (or relevant work experience)
  • 2+ years’ working experience as a legal assistant (or in an administrative assistant function in  a busy office)
  • Experience with a legal or HIPAA compliant environment, understanding of confidentiality and related principles.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, namely basic and intermediate functions within word, basic functions of excel, and office email
  • Ability to type 55+ words per minute
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • (opt) Experience with Clio, Time Matters, or any law related document management systems
  • (opt) Experience with practice areas of Family Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Traffic Tickets, Criminal Defense

PARALEGAL

PARALEGAL   •   DOWNTOWN OFFICE, LAS VEGAS

We are a growing law firm in need of a reliable and self motivated team player. This Paralegal position will work directly under the supervision of our Lead Paralegal, Case Manager & Senior Partner. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet all of our clients’ needs.

  • Create reports for attorneys based on case specifications and attorney requests
  • Work with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions and other case filings
  • Maintain case files by uploading and saving within legal document management systems. Archival and calendaring for same
  • Monitor changes to government guidelines or regulations and submit reports on pertinent changes
  • Utilize existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases
  • Client Correspondence, customer service, general clerical/office duties
  • Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s degree is preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organization abilities
  • Strong research and report-generating skills
  • Strong Office Suite Application experience, intermediate to advanced level skill with word, intermediate excel, and strong familiarity with various webmail/email applications for correspondence
  • Experience with time tracking/billing all work performed
  • Experience in using legal database software
